![]() I think the Vat of Acid episode was more devastating than the other two (which also hit hard though, don't get me wrong) because everything fell apart but by no fault of Morty's or his girlfriend's. Brutal, sad, and says a lot about both of them and their relationship. Either Morty faces the consequences of his actions which resulted in many deaths and he keeps the love of his life, or he sacrifices one Morty's life to save them all and go back to way things were without his love. Rick wanted to teach Morty a lesson about consequences while also acknowledging that he's done some horrific shit (which is he how he came to the conclusion that everything will always have consequences). ![]() I still think Morty is just soon-to-be Rick, so this episode feels like self flagellation to the infinite degree. Vat of Acid just shows how both of these traits interact with each other, kind of the conclusion to both thoughts. With Planetina, we realize how violent Morty is willing to be for love before he draws a line with innocent bystanders, another thing we sort of already knew but became more personalized. With Unity, we find out that Rick is a controlling ass who doesn't know how to stop, which I feel we already knew but saw how wide of a scale it was. Keep it to 2 posts in a 24 hour period.īreak the cycle.
